Monitor and Manage Performance During Vendor SWAPs
Many operators are considering network equipment vendor swaps . The trigger is often the desire to future-proof as well as to take advantage of any opportunities for site and infrastructure sharing opportunities. In most cases the activities surrounding the swap is given as a managed service contract to the winning vendor.
The risks associated with such projects are huge. Practically every customer will be impacted in some way during the change. It is therefore essential to ensure that the work being undertaken minimises customer disruption whilst ultimately delivers better service quality. It's not feasible to take a hands-off approach and simply measure the vendor on project -complete KPIs. Operators need to develop procedures to monitor and manage the project from start to finish. To add to the complexity, it is often a new, unfamiliar vendor whose is performing the swap.
MSI have been involved in many swap projects. We can help to ramp up the knowledge within operators' organisations and fill resource gaps during times when workloads are massively increased. In doing so, we have helped to minimise customer disruption whilst achieving aggressive project goals.
